My name is Nakia Dawn Whittaker-Woody, known by my middle name in most circles. Of course you could peep the About Me:) Page and get a great synopsis of who I am but I wanted to take the time to reintroduce myself, including what I envision, and my WHY!
I am a married, mother of 2 who to take care of my family, has been a career Administrative Assistant . While I do not have a college degree yet, I am 12 credits shy of an Associate’s Degree in Office Administration, with plans to complete the degree in the next 2 years. I’m a proud member of the IVAA, IAAP, ASAP Administrative Organizations, and attending the ASAP Conference in Florida this Fall to continue to enhance my administrative skills and prowess.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite as well as Adobe Acrobat, preferring these two products, specializing in creating forms. My love gadgets and tech has me always reading up on new software and products, currently learning Google Suite and Java Script. Also known as a very creative person, although not a service provided, knowing how to create graphics in Pic Monkey as well as Canva, allows me to play with graphics in my blog posts and make custom graphics for my marketing materials. To my credit also is my website to which I created on my own this year, very proud of it and the accomplishment. My Virtual Niche is General Administrative, handling most office associated tasks. Tasks in my niche include, calendar and email management, data entry, appointment setting, sending out newsletter campaigns, setting up social media, posting to blog/website, and social media.
Starting this business was a way to make extra income while still working my 9-5. It has been challenging but rewarding at the same time, pushing my limits in learning and networking. I plan to stay at my full time job for as long as the business allows because I truly enjoy what I do everyday and the team I work with. My Why is attributed to being blessed throughout my career to always have a position where I was able to learn, help someone, work with some great people. I want to take all those blessings and be able to pay it forward with small businesses, non-profits, and start-ups here locally where I am a member of the RVA Chamber of Commerce, as well as take on clients in the Continental US, who at their beginning of their WHY need that support that Mrs. Whittaker Woody VA Services can offer.
No Turning Back
There happens to be an influx of Virtual Assistants at this time, but I am on this journey for me and in it for the long haul. I welcome the competition and comraderie, as I love seeing us all do something we love and being successful. I believe in me and know why I chose this path, and will be successful because of who I am and what I bring to the table. I have heart, tenacity, and am not afraid of hard work.
I hope you enjoy my blog posts and continue to follow me in my journey.
